CAFFE supplements the Bangladeshi national curriculum with practical, vocational skills for young people from low-income households. Four areas, taught free, six days a week — and a route from beginner to paid work.
Coding, game development, web and apps
Students start with block-based coding and typing, move into JavaScript and the Godot engine, and finish by shipping something real. Games designed on graph paper in class have been published on itch.io, entered into international game jams, and released on the Google Play Store.

2D and 3D, from pixel art to modelling
Illustration, vector work, pixel art in Aseprite and 3D modelling — the game art our coding students need, and the portfolio our freelancing students need. Design students have already won paid logo commissions from clients abroad.

A skill that saves lives, in our own pool
Bangladesh floods every year and 14,000 children drown. In the Frank F. Pinkerton Pool we teach water confidence, floating, breathing and front crawl — starting with complete non-swimmers. Sixty students can now swim.

Kitchen skills students earn from
Students learn to cook, cost and sell. They've run an iftar stall through Ramadan, catered community events at the centre, and cooked dishes from around the world for other classes — keeping what they make.
